Hey, I'm Niels. User Experience Designer with 3+ years of experience and a love of creating valuable products and experiences. I research the users needs, help businesses and stakeholders in finding the right direction for their product and design intuitive and accessible products.
I’m passionate about solving tough customer problems by combining thoughtful research, clever technology and beautiful design — and love working with businesses who believe that design can change the world.
Outside of work I enjoy playing sports. At least three times a week you will find me playing badminton competitively, and when the dutch weather allows for it you can find me outside rollerskating.
Through my education trained to be a generalist in all digital media, but specialized as UX Designer and Researcher through a minor and recent work experience.

Fontys University of Applied Science
In 2017, I began my academic journey at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven, Netherlands, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology & Media Design, commonly known as ICT & Media Design.
During my time at Fontys, I specialized in digital innovation, working on a variety of projects that included websites, applications, and installations for events like GLOW Eindhoven and the Dutch Design Week. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with students from different disciplines, such as those from Fontys University of Sports and Fontys Design - Art, Communication, and Design, contributing to the development of unique and innovative projects.

As part of his bachelor's degree journey, Niels took up a minor in Digital Experience Design at Fontys University of Applied Science. During this semester-long course, he delved into the overall user experience of different digital products, going beyond just the screens. This broader insight into user and customer experiences is super valuable for Niels as he aims to become an excellent User Experience Designer.

The Social Security Bank (SVB) in the Netherlands had a quest to come up with a new Customer Journey for the registration of a child and to apply for child benefits. This new Customer Journey should be suited to work together with the coming changes and the further digitalisation of these processes. This process is being changed to match the view people have of the government, the so called “one acting government”.
